On January 23rd, we started our trip to Mike's home town of Kipling, Saskatchewan. It took us just over 17 hours to get there. To say that Mike and I were grateful for modern technology,(DVD player, DS games, i-pods), is an understatement! After making it safely, we were greeted by Mike's family with hugs and smiles. We also were reminded what minus forty degree weather feels like! It was a bit of a shock to our systems! I think I got the biggest kick out of the fact that Mike's family stored their ice cream and ice outside! Mike's parents celebrated their 40th anniversary, which was a lovely evening in the local community center. The children played the piano, recited a poem, and sang a song. Kind tributes were paid, and congratulations given. It was nice to see everyone and to catch up. During our visit, the boys had a hockey game - Ethan was in heaven, all of his uncles and boy cousins are quite good at the sport, and it was a thrill for him to participate playing with them.

Modern technology is the best!! Looks like Ethan is having such a blast! How fun for him to play with the boys. I like your hair - looks very nice!!
Wow!! That is a long time to be in the car! I hope you all had a blast seeing your relatives! That sounds super fun! You guys are all so cute! Love ya to death!! :)
I love the picture of Ethan's rosie cheeks.
-40 would have been a shock - it is here as well! Brrr....glad you travelled safely.
How fun. It was good to see pictures of Mike's family...it's been a while since I've seen any of them and the picture of Ethan is classic! What a stud! My boys have been longing to play ice hockey. Carter especially loves street hockey..another reason to live closer, right?!
