On Monday, March 9th, we went to the Draper Temple open house. On the drive there, we discussed the importance and sacredness of the temple, and why it was so neat that they could go into the temple. I explained what they would see, what to look for, and what a special place the temple is. As we entered the temple, Jenna, Abby, Ethan, and Claire, were all very observant, and I could see how the spirit and beauty of the temple were affecting them. In the bride's room, I stopped and pulled the sides of a three way mirror and had my girls stand in front of it, and look at their reflection. We also looked at our seemingly endless reflection in one of the sealing rooms. I asked my children afterward how they felt in the temple. Claire replies: "My heart felt happy, mom." Ethan says: "I felt like Jesus was right next to me." Jenna and Abigail each expressed the peaceful and happy feelings they had in the temple. The next day, I gave them pictures of themselves in front of the temple, and explained that if they continued to follow the Savior, they would return to the temple. They loved them, and Claire carries hers around often. It was a wonderful experience for our family.

Wow that is so neat Cynth. I love the pictures of your kids infront of the temple. And how cool that your kids got to experience that!!
What a wonderful experience! We are so excited to go to the broadcast of the dedication. I am taking my boys. I am hoping for a spiritual experience for them. Great job on the pictures of them. I absolutely love the temple in the background. What a great idea to give it to them after so they can always remember it!
I love how you made going to the open house such a special and important experience for them. I'm sure they will always remember bits and pieces of it. (like the brides room!) I love those pictures that you took - they are stunning.
