Sweet girl! (You can kind of see Evey's bite mark on the green apple - LOL!)
Fifties dance costume
Abby dressed up like Ruby BridgesAbigail has had a busy month with all that is going on in school, and dance competitions. She has a passion for dance, and just loves to perform. Her conga dance - green costume - is a fun, upbeat dance, that is entertaining and fun to watch. Her fifties dance is a part of a big show number with about 100 dancers of all ages. It is called dance evolution, and has all types of dance from flapper girls, to the fifties, to modern day. It is high paced, and alot of fun to watch all of the girls. I have had a great time with her this spring, travelling to all of her competitions. She is constantly thanking me for putting her in dance.
On Friday, Abigail presented the biography of Ruby Bridges in her school class. Ruby Bridges was a little African American girl, who in 1960, at the age of six, attended an all white elementary school. She was met by angry mobs, and parents pulled their children out of school in anger. The white children ended up coming back the next year, and Ruby Bridges was a part of history for being the first African American girl to go to school with white children. Abigail enjoyed learning about this brave little girl, who also prayed for those who were being so mean. She did a wonderful job memorizing and presenting it - way to go, Abby!

I love her fifties costume. It is so cute. All the details - even the shoes! I wish I could see her dance. Can you tape her dances? You should, and then post them on here. :) Competition is such an exciting time of year. That was my absolute favorite time. Way to go Abs - wish I could see you!
Ya..the bite mark..LOL! Evey just had to leave her mark didn't she?! Abby you are such a performer..way to go! The presentation on Ruby sounded fantastic. I bet you would have done the exact same thing, Abby if you had been in her shoes. You're a brave and compassionate girl! What a neat person to learn about!
