Ogden Half Marathon

This past Saturday, May 16th, Mike, Melanie, and I ran the Ogden half marathon. Boy, was it such a beautiful course! We started up in the town of Eden, then made our way around Pine View Lake, as the sun was rising, and the moon was still in the sky. We then entered the canyon, with high rock walls, waterfalls, and a river running along. The weather was beautiful, as was the scenery. The race ended as we ran by the temple - could it get any better than that?! Plus, it was so much fun to run with Mike and Melanie! Mike was so kind to run with us, and keep us motivated, seeing as he can run faster than us! Melanie did so awesome, with her injured heel, she was hobbling around just the weekend before, and then busts out a half marathon! She developed quite the blood blister - ouch! I felt pretty good most of the race, and could not wipe the smile off of my face, because of running with the two M's, and the scenery! The last couple of miles were a bit of a struggle for me, but I forced myself to keep going, and Mike and I finished holding hands - as Melanie wanted us to go ahead at mile 11. She came in not far behind, and I was so proud of her! What a wonderful experience, and I would definitely run that course again!
It was so much fun to have Melanie here, she was so sweet with my children, and we absolutley loved hearing her amazing talent of playing the piano. Abigail recorded her, and keeps listening to it, that make me miss Mel! Spencer and Lori had us over for a hot dog roast that evening, and the cousins had a blast together - thanks guys! Afterwards, Lori, Melanie, and I went to a movie, and it was so much fun to go out, chat, and giggle - what every woman wants! What a wonderful weekend!
