Chelsea, myself, and Jenny with our wonderful Dad
Sunday was a triple celebration in our home! We celebrated two birthdays and Father's Day. I love Father's day, first of all, because we honor Mike, and we are so grateful for all that he does. He works hard to provide for us, and completely supports me in my role as a mother. He loves having adventures with our children, such as camping, biking, four wheeling, fishing, and hunting. He is so tender when he tucks them in bed at night. He is also wonderful at fixing things, he sure knows how to do "stuff!" We are blessed and grateful to have him in our family. We sure have alot of fun together - we love you, Michael! Secondly, I enjoy father's day because I think about my own father. He taught me so many important lessons, and continues to today. He taught me to be honest, a hard worker, faithful, loyal, and trustworthy, to name a few. I feel lucky to have a Dad like I do, one who loves his family and the gospel. He is wise and loving, and I am so grateful to have been raised in a faithful home with a strong, spiritual father - thank you so much, Dad - we love you!
We also had fun celebrating Ethan's 7th birhtday, and Mike's 40th. It is alot of fun to have my boys' birthdays on the same day. Ethan was the best birthday present Mike could ever receive! Ethan is always willing to try any new adventure, he jokes and laughs alot, and he is such a good sport being surrounded by all us girls! He is a kind boy, a wonderful friend, and tries hard to choose the right. We love our boy of joy! On Saturday afternoon, Ethan's friend water party got rained out, so I quickly switched to plan B - indoor games downstairs. We had 16 boys ranging in ages from five to nine. It certainly was high energy, and I kept switching from game to game to keep them busy. The boys had alot of fun, and I know Ethan sure had a great time. Mike is now officially over the hill! He has informed me that he is picking up speed, though. He has done a triathalon, a half-marathon, a relay-through-the-night-running-race, and has a few more races planned this year. Way to accomplish your goals, and stay fit and young! On Saturday night, I successfully pulled off a suprise of inviting several friend couples, along with Spencer and Lori to a Mexican restaurant. We had a fun time visiting, and enjoying one another's company. Everyone sang happy birthday to Mike, and his face turned a little more colorful at being the center of attention. Happy birthday to my boys!

Yes - what a great triple celebration. Happy Birthday you two boys! :) 18 boys in your house - crazy! I'm glad that it went well. I can just see you moving things along quickly to keep them occupied...hehe. And nice job pulling off the surprise. I think it's funny that Mike's face went all red...maybe because I've never seen him embarrassed either? How fun to celebrate with so many people. Nice job making his 40th so special.
I agree - we have a fantastic dad!
